Michel Legrand, already an established composer and arranger, traveled to New York in 1958 and persuaded some of the greatest musicians of the time—including Miles Davis and John Coltrane—to record an album consisting primarily of jazz standards. This masterpiece, which Legrand called his “dream record,” *Legrand Jazz*, is being reissued with its original artwork for RSD2026. It comes with a limited-edition art print featuring a photo from the session with Miles Davis and John Coltrane, as well as a commentary by Michel Legrand on the historic session that was not included on the original release.
