It is a record of his transformation into a brilliant improviser who would go on to dominate the jazz world for decades. In addition to two previously unreleased SP recordings with the McShann Band, the album includes two sets of private recordings with local musicians (at Bird’s friend Phil Baxter’s home and at Vic Damon’s studio).【パーソネル】 Charlie Parker (as) unknown (b) unknown (ds) Recorded: July 1951 at the home of Phil Baxter in Kansas City, MOCharlie Parker (as; Efferge Ware (g) Edward “Little Phil” Phillips (ds) Recorded: probably June 1944 at Vic Damon’s Transcription Studios in Kansas City, MO.Jay McShann and His Orchestra: Jay McShann (p, director) Orville Minor (tp) Charlie Parker (as) Joe Coleman (vos) and probably Bernard Anderson, Harold Bruce, Joe Baird (tb) John Jackson (as) Harry Ferguson, Bob Mabane (ts) Gene Ramey (b) Gus Johnson (ds) Recorded: February 6, 1941 in Kansas City, MO.
