A very special limited picture disc version of the 1972 edition of the DAVID BOWIE album retitled as SPACE ODDITY. The picture disc features the iconic Ziggy Stardust era artwork and comes with a replica of the poster which was part of the package at the time. The November 1972 reissue of DAVID BOWIE was released in the wake of Bowie's breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and in chart terms outstripped the original making No. 17 in the UK chart and No. 16 in the United States. The picture disc features the 2009 40th anniversary remaster of the album which was undertaken to match as closely as possible the original vinyl issue. "David Bowie" aka "Space Oddity" was the second studio album from David Bowie. The album was originally released as a self-titled album, but later released titled "Space Oddity". This album features David Bowie's first hit single, "Space Oddity," and sets the tone for the spacey Ziggy Stardust to come. Space Oddity was a giant leap forward for David Bowie in terms of songwriting as compared to his eponymous debut and it is considered the first truly essential Bowie release. Noted for a list of collaborators, including session players Herbie Flowers, Tim Renwick, Terry Cox and Rick Wakeman, Space Oddity delves into psychedelic folk-rock, as well as prog, with its genre-defying template and it helped create a blueprint that over the next decade would make Bowie the most inimitable British artists.     • Release date: 26.6.2020 - For the 20th anniversary of the classic, two previously unpublished tracks have now been added to the track list: the blues standard Rollin 'and Tumblin' and BB KING's composition Let Me Love You. Both songs were recorded during the session and newly produced and mixed especially for the new release by Simon Climie, who produced the album together with Clapton. In addition, Bob Lewis' original tapes were remastered. Riding With The King appears on Reprise Records. - The 14-track collection is available in all formats, including a black 180-gram double vinyl. The album is presented in a limited edition on blue 180 gram vinyl. The vinyl version was mastered by Chris Bellman at the Bernie Grundman Mastering in Los Angeles.
