- “Peace Sells... but Who's Buying?” is the second studio album by American heavy metal band Megadeth, released on September 19, 1986. The band’s line up, at the time, featured vocalist/guitarist Dave Mustaine, bassist/vocalist David Ellefson, drummer Gar Samuelson and guitarist Chris Poland. The title track, noted for its politically conscious lyrics, was released as the album's lead single. The album is often regarded as a thrash metal classic and as an album that gave prominence to extreme metal. The album features three of Bowie’s most successful singles; the title track, “Let’s Dance”, which reached No. 1 in the UK, US and various other countries, as well as the hits “Modern Love” and “China Girl”. It remains David Bowie’s best-selling album and has sold over 10.7 million copies worldwide. The album was nominated for the Album of the Year Grammy Award in 1984, losing out to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller”.
