Description

Forty years after their formation and almost two decades after their last release, the legendary synth-pop band Propaganda is returning to write a new chapter in their international success story.

The self-titled new album by Ralf Dörper and Michael Mertens seamlessly follows on from the depth and drama of their earlier global hits. With modern soundscapes, quotes and references, Dörper and Mertens also reflect very deliberately on the personal and social upheavals since their last releases. The album was completely conceived and produced in their home base of Düsseldorf – a decision that shows that Propaganda is aware of its roots. The production is taken to previously unknown spheres thanks to the guest appearance of the celebrated film composer Hauschka and vocals by the up-and-coming artist Thunder Bae.
With their new album, Propaganda have created something authentic in a time of transience that leaves a lasting impression from the first sound to the end of the last note and also thanks to the artwork. Propaganda’s third album was a long time coming, but the wait was worth it.
