Description
Formed in Hereford in 1969 and originally called the Doc Thomas Group, Mott The Hoople changed their name after signing their first record deal that same year. Shortly before the band’s dissolution, David Bowie encouraged Mott to stay together. Bowie wrote several songs for the band that became hits. Bowie subsequently produced their eponymous album, which further expanded their success. The CD “No Wheels To Ride” includes a legendary live radio recording from Schorndorf, Germany, in 1970.
