Originally released in June of 1970, Workingman's Dead was the fourth studio album recorded by the Grateful Dead. A departure from Grateful Dead's historically psychedelic and experimental works, Workingman's Dead brought the songcraft of Jerry Garcia & Robert Hunter to the forefront in this now iconic Americana album, which will celebrate its 50th Anniversary in 2020. The title of the album comes from a comment from Jerry Garcia to lyricist Robert Hunter about how "this album was turning into the Workingman's Dead version of the band." The sound of this album was influenced by Garcia's pairing with songwriter Hunter as well as the group's friendship with Crosby, Stills and Nash. The sound that CSN created made the Dead strive for a better, more harmonious sound themselves. The album is ranked number 264 on Rolling Stone magazine's list of the 500 greatest albums of all time. Produced in a limited edition of 10,000 copies, the picture disc features all 8 perfect songs from the original album, newly remastered by Grammy® Award-winning engineer, David Glasser. A very special limited picture disc version of the 1972 edition of the DAVID BOWIE album retitled as SPACE ODDITY. The picture disc features the iconic Ziggy Stardust era artwork and comes with a replica of the poster which was part of the package at the time. The November 1972 reissue of DAVID BOWIE was released in the wake of Bowie's breakthrough The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars, and in chart terms outstripped the original making No. 17 in the UK chart and No. 16 in the United States. The picture disc features the 2009 40th anniversary remaster of the album which was undertaken to match as closely as possible the original vinyl issue. "David Bowie" aka "Space Oddity" was the second studio album from David Bowie. The album was originally released as a self-titled album, but later released titled "Space Oddity". This album features David Bowie's first hit single, "Space Oddity," and sets the tone for the spacey Ziggy Stardust to come. Space Oddity was a giant leap forward for David Bowie in terms of songwriting as compared to his eponymous debut and it is considered the first truly essential Bowie release. Noted for a list of collaborators, including session players Herbie Flowers, Tim Renwick, Terry Cox and Rick Wakeman, Space Oddity delves into psychedelic folk-rock, as well as prog, with its genre-defying template and it helped create a blueprint that over the next decade would make Bowie the most inimitable British artists.
