Description
This live album was recorded in two concerts at the venerable Café O Go-Go in Greenwich Village in 1964, two months after Astrud Gilberto’s “Girl From Ipanema” had reached the Top 5 pop singles chart. The focus of these sets, however, moved away from the Brazilian flavor and took Gilberto into distinctly North American-style territory. The band features a young Gary Burton (vibes), Kenny Burrell (g), Gene Cherico (b), Joe Hunt (ds), and substitutes Hercio Milito (ds) and Chuck Israels (b).
