Description
Víkingur Ólafsson has just completed his world tour of Bach’s Goldberg Variations and is already releasing six new interpretations of the composer, four of which he arranged himself. He recorded the piano arrangements of Bach’s sacred music in Reykjavík’s Harpa concert hall in January. Víkingur Ólafsson: #When I play Bach’s works, I become aware that historical periods in music are concepts that we project onto something that is essentially a continuum: an uninterrupted river that connects us all, a flowing stream that flows through us # which the Germans call a Bach.# Continuum is Víkingur Ólafsson’s personal Bach diary, a dialogue with Bach’s music and an ongoing homage to his artistic work.
